Moscow patriarchy to host jubilee conference devoted to St Prince Daniel of Moscow

A conference entitled St Prince Daniel of Moscow and His Monastery in the History of Moscow and Russia will take place at the Moscow Patriarch's residence at St Daniel Monastery on September 5.

The conference will involve Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Alexis II, Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov, prominent scholars, historians and art critics, the organising committee for the 700th anniversary of the death of Prince Daniel told RIA Novosti.

The presentation of a collection of rarities of St Daniel Monastery's museum and Moscow's mint will be held as part of the forum. The collection features ancient coins, Christian crosses, panhagias, and Agnus Deis worn next to the skin. A replica of the cross of the 14th century, which was discovered during excavations in the Monastery's compound, will open the exposition.

The conferees will also be able to visit a book exhibition, the Governor of Moscow. Saint Prince Daniel of Moscow. The exhibition is featuring rare folios of the 17-19th centuries, all about St Prince Daniel.

A spiritual music concert will round off the conference.

The arrangements for the conference were overseen by the Moscow city government, St Daniel Monastery and the Nekrasov Central Public Library.
