Tricentenary of Saint Petersburg to be celebrated in Milan

The third exhibition in the series 300 years of Saint Petersburg. An open Russia will be held in Milan on November 3-6. As a Rosbalt correspondent was informed by the city's tricentenary committee, the exhibition will include sections devoted to culture, economics, investment and others. One section will be The history of Saint Petersburg - the northern capital of Russia which will include exhibits taken from the Russian city's history museum including material relating to the city's palaces, artefacts belonging to Peter the Great and the Romanov dynasty and information about the role of Saint Petersburg in the history of Russia. Exhibits from the Russian Museum will also be on display including icons from the 17th and 18th centuries and paintings by Malevich and Kandinsky.

The first exhibition of this series was held at the Barbican Centre in London on November 11-14, 2002. Seven federal districts of Russia were represented at the exhibition and over a thousand Russian enterprises as well as the Russian Chamber of Trade and Commerce and 160 regional chambers of commerce. The second exhibition was held at the Messegelande Centre in Berlin in April.
