Indian Cultural Centre to open in Samara

A delegation from the Indian Embassy, headed by Ambassador Krishnan Raghunath, is to visit the Samara Region tomorrow to open an Indian Cultural and Information Centre. The ambassador will meet with Samara Governor Konstantin Titov for talks on developing cooperation between India and the region.

Customs statistics show that trade between India and the Samara Region was worth USD 5.424 million in 2002. In January-March 2003, trade totaled USD 242,500, including exports of USD 187,000 and imports of USD 55,500. The Samara Region exports synthetic rubber, industrial equipment, aluminium sheet and other goods to India. It imports mainly medical equipment and pharmaceutical products from India.
