Russian projects in the sphere of high technologies roused British investors' interest

A number of Russian projects in the high technologies sphere, presented in London, have roused great interest of the British side.

This was said in an interview with RIA Novosti by the head of the Russian delegation at Days of High Russian Technologies in London, Deputy Minister of Industry, Science and Technologies of Russia Vladimir Fridlyanov.

According to him, possible British investors have already displayed interest in a number of projects. This concerns, in particular, the project of cutting, milling and drilling instruments with special sputtering which will allow the service life of these instruments to be doubled. The second project provides for organising satellite communication by means of an aircraft flying at a height of 20 km and ensuring reliable communication within a radius of 500 km. This development can be used in regions of technogenic disasters and natural calamities.

Assessing the scale of present-day Russian-British cooperation in the scientific-technical sphere, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Science said that "regrettably, now it does not meet the existing requirements, and there is what to work on in this field". Fridlyanov expressed hope that this exhibition and the forthcoming Russian-British summit-level contacts would make it possible to further this interaction.

The Deputy Minister noted that Minister for Science and Innovations of Great Britain Lord Sainsbury visited the show, and a total of about 300 British specialists in science and technologies, as well as representatives of the firms engaged in introducing some or other new developments in this sphere visited it during two days.

Fridlyanov noted that "such attention on the part of Englishmen is an indicator of serious success", especially because an event of this kind is held in the United Kingdom for the first ever time.
