The meteorological data coming from the North Pole-32 drifting station /SP-32/ will make it possible to improve considerably the precision of weather forecasts both in Russia and also in other countries. RIA Novosti was told as much on Monday by the scientific head of the SP-32, Vladimir Sokolov.
According to him, at the present time the SP-32 is the closest to the North Pole source of the fullest and trustworthy information about the weather in that area.
The first results of meteorological observations were transferred to the international meteorological network on the first day of summer, said Vladimir Sokolov.
