Russian Chamber Orchestra of London to give concert in London to mark Petersburg's 300th anniversary

The Russian Chamber Orchestra of London will give a concert in London to mark the 300th anniversary of Petersburg.

The concert organisers, the Ensemble Productions company and the Russo-British Culture Association, reported that famous musicians living and performing in Russia and abroad would take part in the concert.

Some of them are cellist Alexander Ivashkin, violinist Maxim Rysanov and opera singer Marianna Tarasova (mezzo soprano) - all the three have had plenty of experience of performing and working in many countries of the world such as Russia, Great Britain, the US, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Japan and Australia.

They will perform music by Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky, Rossini and other composers in the St. Johns Concert Hall. The concert will be conducted by British Julian Gallant.

The Russian Chamber Orchestra of London was founded in January 1998. Many remarkable Russian and British musicians are its members. The orchestra boasts a great history of performing on prestigious London concert stages, in halls of other British cities and foreign countries, the Netherlands and Switzerland in particular. The orchestra's repertoire includes works by composers of the 18th-20th centuries.
