Song And Dance Company Of Russian Army to Mark Anniversary Of Liberation Of Czechoslovakia

The A.V. Alexandrov Academic Song and Dance Company of the Russian Army will participate in the gala concert, which will be held in the capital of the Czech Republic on Tuesday, to mark the 58th anniversary of the liberation of Czechoslovakia from Nazism and the 80th anniversary of Czechoslovak Radio.

As press secretary of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Prague Alexander Gomenyuk said, the principal idea of the cultural action is to remind the Czech citizens, first of all young ones, of the glorious chapters of the common history of the Czech Republic and Russia.

The gala concert is organised with the support of the government of the Czech Republic, the General Staff of the Czech Army and Czech Radio. The cultural action is patronised by Prime Minister of the country Vladimir Spidla.

The Song and Dance Company of the Russian Army came to Prague again after an eighteen-year interval. The renowned Russian collective already performed in the Congress Centre in Prague on Monday with great success.

The company, organised in Moscow in 1928, is the largest army artistic collective.
