Swedish-Russian Printed Graphic Art Exhibition Opens Saturday in St. Petersburg

An exhibition of printed graphic art entitled Swedish-Russian Art Club opens on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Jam Hall Gallery in St. Petersburg.

Project Curator Olga Kasyanenko told Rosbalt that the exhibition is being conducted as part of Sweden Week in St. Petersburg and represents a joint project of Russian and Swedish artists. Demonstrations will take place in the exhibition hall on the possibilities of joining traditional printing techniques with computer technology. The main theme of the exhibit is the classical production of Swedish topography of the 17th century Suecis Antiqua et Hodierna. The works have much in common, through the help of modern polygraphic technology, with the production Suecia Conterporare of Swedish authors Gunnar Nels, Pontus Paud and St. Petersburg artists.

The exhibition runs through May 20.
