Comet P/2013 P5 that was discovered in late August has formed six tails during the recent two weeks, astronomers said.

Originally, astronomers thought that the comet "fluffed up" its tail as a result of a collision with a celestial body. It became clear later that since the tails were stable for a long time, they could not be a result of an impact.

According to astronomers, the comet increased the speed of rotation, when particles of dust began to fly away from it. A long period of dust emission is based on the loss of mass due to unstable rotation.
