Ground effect winged vehicle to be tested in Yakutia

Moscow engineers built  high-speed ground effect amphibious vehicle Burevestnik-24. The tests of the winged vehicle will take place in Yakutia in 2013. The news arrived as a result of the recent meeting, which the Minister of Transport and Roads of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Semyon Vinokourov conducted with spokespeople for the company that makes amphibious boats.  

The winged amphibian ground effect vehicle was built within the framework of the target program to organize high-speed passenger lines in Yakutia in 2012-2016. Next year will see the tests of the amphibious vehicle. Passengers will only benefit from the use of this type of transport. They will save up to 60 percent of their time.  The economy of the republic will gain profit too: the amphibious ground effect vehicle will save considerable amount of fuel.

The vehicle of the 3000 kg cargo capacity can carry 24 passengers. On the water surface, it is capable of traveling at the speed of up to 20 kilometers per hour. The flight speed is 170-200 kilometers per hour. It can also operate as a snowmobile developing the speed of up to 110 kilometers per hour.
