iTablet from Apple Won't Disappoint Users

Influential Apple blogger John Gruber claims there will be no camera on the rumoured Apple iTablet which leaves possibility to other inventors to make a device according to a state-of-the-art technology.

Gruber, who runs the blog Daring Fireball, is a well-respected technology commentator, who has previously provided accurate details of Apple product launches. In a post on his website he wrote: "for what it’s worth, I’m hearing there is no camera, webcam or otherwise, on The Tablet".

Although Apple has refused to confirm that it is launching a tablet-style computer, thought to be called the iTablet, an interview given by the chief executive of Orange, the mobile phone operator, appeared to confirm the existence of the device. Stephan Richard appeared to say that the tablet did exist, would be available on Orange and would support video calling. Orange has since said his words were taken out of context and mistranslated.

Speculation is mounting that Apple will hold a special event in San Francisco on Jan 27, where Steve Jobs, Apple's chief executive, will unveil a tablet computer with a 10in screen, similar in look and feel to the hugely successful iPhone. It is believed that the tablet will feature a full web browser, music and video playback, and will be optimised for working and communicating on the go.
