The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released information that obese women require more medical care than their lighter contemporaries.

The list of necessary procedures includes: more visits to the doctor, more medical tests and prescribed medications and prolonged stay in the hospital after delivery.

The study points at the crucial problem of health care cost, stressing that annually every forth birth involves obese women and as a result substantial economic implications.
