Yellow fever ravages in Brazil, 48 people are already dead.

Yellow fever (also called yellow jack, black vomit or vomito negro, or sometimes American Plague) is an acute viral disease. It’s characterized by fever, muscle pain (with prominent backache), headache, shivers, loss of appetite, and nausea or vomiting.

The cases of yellow fever has been confirmed in the three states Goias, Brasilia and Mato Gross do Sul. To respond to the outbreak Brazil has suspended its exports from Bio-Manguinhos.

It’s highly recommended to get vaccinated at least 10 days before travelling to Brazilian forests, national parks and rural areas.
