The experts discovered dangerous levels of mercury in a sampling of bluefin tuna at about 20 New York restaurants and stores. Among them are such famous sushi places as Blue Ribbon Sushi, Nobu Next Door, and Sushi Seki.
It turned out that the problem lies in the fish’s size. The larger the fish, the more the mercury. Besides, people are ready to pay for it. And it’s not the problem of USA only but of the whole world according to the tests.
But even such arguments as endangered species, high price and even health risk do not low the demand.
