Dell Inc offers new PowerEdge M-Series of blade servers

An American technology-company, Dell Inc., has made another attempt to gain firm position in the sphere of Business Class products. It has launched something brand new and convenient – a new PowerEdge M-Series of blade servers.

The PowerEdge M1000E will support the new Intel-based PowerEdge M600 and the AMD-based PowerEdge M605 blade servers.

It’s said to achieve the desired compute performance while lowering the power consumption and reducing data center complexity and server sprawl.

In comparison with the IBM BladeCenter H, the M-Series eats up 12 percent less energy and gains up to 28 percent better performance per watt. It also provides lead-free configurations, ("green IT") to reduce the environmental impact.

The new thing about M1000E is the presence of InfiniBand connectivity, Fibre Channel connectivity, Ethernet, as well as a 10U enclosure.

The new blade will be sold for $5,999, along with blades starting at $1,849.
