National project “Health”: Kirov sums up the results of 9-months work

Due to the framework of the national project “Health” the Kirov region received equipment and ambulance cars in the sum of 165.7 million rubles ($6.6 million) over the last 9 months in 2007. The information was reported during the meeting of the regional council established to implement the national priority project. The meeting was chaired by Nikolai Gorokhov, the deputy chairman of the regional government.

Regional hospitals received 173 items of medical equipment in total during nine months. The items include endoscopes, electrocardiographs, X-ray machines, ultrasonic machines and laboratory analyzers in the total sum of 146.1 million rubles ($5.8 million). It made up 81 per cent of the annual plan.

The Kirov region also received 43 cross-country ambulances in the sum of 19.6 million rubles ($780,000). Three more ambulance vehicles are to be delivered before the end of 2007.

It was said during the meeting that modern medical equipment allowed the regional hospitals to decrease the time needed for medical examinations of patients.
