Russian Interior Min calls emergency meeting over Nalchik events

MOSCOW, Oct. 13. Russia’s Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev has called an emergency operative meeting of interior officials to discuss the situation in Nalchik, the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria in North Caucasus that underwent an amassed attack by militants Thursday.

“Mr Nurgaliyev was taking part in a conference of interior ministers in the Russia-European Union format in Luxembourg, but he changed his itinerary and decided to return to Moscow,” Interior sources said.

“Right after arrival, he will bring together his deputies and heads of departments, who will report on the situation in Nalchik,” the sources said. “They will tell him about the steps the police and Interior Troops are taking to normalize the situation.”, Itar-Tass reported. V.A.
