Russia sends humanitarian aid plane to Pakistani quake victims

Russia on Monday sent a cargo plane to the Pakistani capital, carrying tents, beds, blankets and other bedding for victims of the devastating Saturday earthquake, the Emergency Situations Ministry said.

It was the second humanitarian shipment to be dispatched to Pakistan, after a planeload of emergency workers and search dogs left for Islamabad on Sunday.

The Il-76 plane that departed Monday carried 190 tents with a capacity of 10-30 places, 2,300 bedding sets, 750 collapsible beds, mattresses, pillows and blankets, said ministry spokesman Sergei Vlasov, report the AP.
