Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko on Tuesday signed decrees on the appointment of two deputy prime ministers and the ministers for energy and emergency situations.
Yushchenko appointed trusted allies Vyacheslav Kyrylenko and Roman Besmertny as deputy prime ministers, according to a statement posted on the presidential Web site.
Yushchenko also appointed Viktor Baloga, a former governor of the western Zakarpatye region, as the new minister for emergency situations. Ivan Plachkov, another Yushchenko ally, remained in his post of minister for fuel and energy.
Prime Minister Yury Yekhanurov was expected to announce the composition of the rest of his Cabinet in the eastern city of Dnipropetrovsk, the AP reports.
