Germany's parliamentary election: partial official results

Partial official results from Germany's parliamentary election, with 255 of 299 districts declaring. Final vote percentages from the last election, in 2002, in parentheses. Social Democrats: 34 percent (38.5 percent). Christian Democrats: 36.2 percent (38.5 percent). Free Democrats: 9.8 percent (7.4 percent). Greens: 7.9 percent (8.6 percent). Left Party: 8.2 percent (Ex-communist Party of Democratic Socialism: 4 percent). Voting in one district, in the eastern city of Dresden, has been delayed until Oct. 2. A provisional national result with all other districts is expected late Sunday night or early Monday morning.
