Seven people rescued in Russia as steamer sank

A steamer carrying passengers and cargo overturned and sank in the Russian Far Northern river port of Dudinka on Friday, the Emergency Situations Ministry said.

Seven people were rescued, but it was not immediately known how many people had been aboard, ministry spokesman Sergei Vlasov said. He could not confirm a report by the ITAR-Tass news agency that the steamer was carrying 20 people.
