Khodorkovsky's lawyers appeal against all clauses of guilty verdict passed

The lawyers of Yukos ex-head Mikhail Khodorkovsky have appealed against all the clauses of the verdict passed against their defendant, reports his lawyer Genrikh Padva. He said they asked the Moscow City Court to drop the guilty verdict as illegitimate and unsubstantiated and to acquit Khodorkovsky as regards all the charges on the grounds of his non-implication in the crimes. Moreover, the lawyers are insisting on the cancellation of the case.

On May 31, Moscow's Meshchansky Court found Khodorkovsky and Menatep chief Platon Lebedev guilty of six charges and sentenced them to ten years in general-regime prison.

Lebedev's lawyers have too appealed against his sentence, insisting on an acquittal for their defendant.
