Gennady Fadeyev, the President of the Russian Railways, confirmed that the issue of YUKOS' oil supplies to China would be settled by October 20, 2004. He said this at today's meeting of the Board of Directors of the company. As reported earlier, previously Fadeyev declared that YUKOS, which is the only supplier of Russian oil to China, had halted its supplies from October 1 to 20.
On September 19, 2004, YUKOS declared that starting on September 28, it would halt oil supplies totaling 1m tons by the end of this year to the Chinese company CNPC.
