Talks on North Korean nuclear program to be resumed

Negotiations of a six-side commission on the issue of the North Korean nuclear program will be resumed, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Alexeyev told journalists in Moscow today. "Unfortunately, we have not managed to implement the agreements on holding the fourth round of these talks at the end of September as it was agreed before," he pointed out. According to him, this happened "due to several objective reasons." In particular, due serious disagreements and distrust between North Korea and the USA, North Korea declared that it was not ready to hold the fourth round of negotiations over its nuclear program. These talks may be resumed in the middle of November 2004, Alexeyev said.
