Russian women's team wins Boris Yeltsin International Volleyball Cup

The Russian women's team won the Boris Yeltsin International Volleyball Cup, the information department of the Sverdlovsk region governor told RIA Novosti.

National teams from eight countries - Azerbaijan, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Russia, the U.S., Thailand, Turkey and Croatia - competed in the tournament. The Cubans won the silver medal and Azeri team won the bronze. The Russian team again won first place.

The official awards ceremony was held at the Metallurg-Forum sports arena in Nizhny Tagil. The first Russian President, Boris Yeltsin, handed medals and cups to the winners.
