The Russian-EU agreement on the simplification of visa regulations is the first move towards their cancellation, said official spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Yakovenko.
In this connection it is necessary to coordinate the "road map" and to fix further moves Russia and the European Union are to take to achieve this goal and terms of their implementation, he added.
According to Mr. Yakovenko, the future Russian-EU agreement will envisage mutual granting of multi-entry visas to some categories of people and simplification of visa regulations for students, research and education workers, and culture figures.
This agreement should be wider than relevant agreements with separate EU member states, the official spokesman said.
