Speaking at the Federation Council (upper house) session, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov named five tasks facing the Russian government.
According to Mr. Fradkov, the first task of the cabinet is to solve the overdue social problems.
The second task is to form a government system allowing effective implementation of specific strategic tasks.
The third task is to create "a tough environment to select competitive production," said Mr. Fradkov.
The fourth task facing the government is to create an effective mechanism for co-operation between business and the state.
The fifth task is to integrate Russia into the world economy and position our country in regard to the world economic power centres.
