All-Orthodox prayer to be read on Holy Saturday

On Holy Saturday - April 10 - on the eve of Easter, the all-Orthodox prayer "Ask peace for Jerusalem" will be read on all continents. The essence of the project initiated by Russia's St. Andrew the Protokletos Fund is that millions of believers in Jerusalem, Moscow, Kiev, Minsk, Belgrade, Athens and other cities of the planet will pray to God for the termination of hostility and for peace and tranquility to lands and hearts.

The project of the prayer for peace on the Holy Land was blessed by Patriarch Alexis II of Moscow and All Russia and the Primates of other Orthodox Churches. Prayer services about peace on the Holy Land will take place in Orthodox churches of many countries, from Japan to South America (with account for time zones).

In Jerusalem, the prayer for the peace on the Holy Land will be read in the Holy Sepulchre Church. It will be read jointly in Greek and in Russian by Patriarch Eirinaios of Jerusalem and Bishop Alexander of Dmitrov who is the spiritual leader of the Russian delegation of political, religious and public figures. First vice speaker of the State Duma Lyubov Sliska and Russian presidential envoy in the Volga federal district Sergei Kiriyenko will take part in the project.

A prayer service for the peace on the Holy Land will be held in Moscow's Christ the Savior Cathedral.

"God save and protect the Holy Land that saw Your Passion and that was red with blood of Your first martyrs," says the prayer coordinated with Patriarch Alexis.

The all-Orthodox prayer organizers said last year, after this action on the Holy Land, the Road Map plan started to be realized.
