Nearly half of all Russians believe that the president and government of Russia will in the next four years double the national revenue, salaries and pensions, according to a poll conducted by the company ROMIR Monitoring between March 11 and 15 in 107 cities and towns throughout the Russian Federation. Conversely, 45% were skeptical of such a possibility.
Half of the Russians polled felt that the most important reforms at present were economic ones. Thirty to 36% of the respondents felt that the first priority had to be solving the problems of the military, healthcare and social security. A further 26% felt that pension reforms had to come first. As respondents were allowed to answer in several ways, the results did not total an even 100%. In all, 1,630 people participated in the polling.
