Federal protection service ensures Fradkov's guard in full

The guard of Mikhail Fradkov, appointed prime minister on Friday, is ensured to the full extent, Federal Protection Service (FSO) public relations service head Sergei Devyatov told RIA Novosti.

"In accordance with the law on state guard, the FSO is taking all necessary measures to ensure the guard of Mikhail Fradkov, including transportation, communications etc.," Mr. Devyatov said.

According to the law, state guard provided by the FSO is ensured for Russia's president, prime minister, parliament's upper and lower houses' heads, Constitutional, Supreme and Supreme Arbitrage Courts' chairmen, prosecutor general, as well as for heads of foreign states and governments and other representatives of foreign states during their stay on Russian territory.

Federal guard is also provided for former USSR president Mikhail Gorbachev and first Russian president Boris Yeltsin.

If necessary, the source said, by a separate decision of the president, state guard may be ensured for other persons. By Vladimir Putin's decision, such guard was provided for the president's authorized representatives in federal districts.
