In Moscow February 9 was declared to be a day of mourning of the victims of the explosion in city metro. Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov signed a decree to this effect on Saturday.
As a result of the explosion which resounded in metro in the morning on February 6, according to the official data, 39 people were killed, and 23 of them have been identified. As many as 134 people asked for medical assistance.
According to the Moscow public health committee, 107 people injured by the explosion are currently staying in hospitals, with 29 of them being in an extremely grave condition, and 44 - in a grave condition. Nine people left hospitals.
Two versions of the explosion - a terrorist act and a spontaneous blast of explosives - are now being considered. But, as chief of the FSB Public Relations Center Sergei Ignatchenko said, a terrorist act is the principal version.
