Irina Khakamada not counting on big business support in presidential campaign

'I am not counting on the support of big business in the run up to the presidential elections in March, said Irina Khakamada yesterday. She added that even ordinary citizens who would like to donate to her presidential campaign can not because they are afraid of disclosing their passport information in support of her campaign. 'Under these circumstances, it will be very difficult for me to receive any material support openly. Therefore, for the time being, I am relying solely on the funds that my husband has donated.'

Khakamada believes that an inquiry into the affairs of Yukos shareholder Leonid Nevslin has been ordered because of his recent announcement supporting her presidential campaign. The inquiry was ordered immediately after Nevslin made his announcement in support of Khakamada.
