Poll: more than half of Russians say they have poor knowledge of country's history

Approximately 48% of Russian citizens qualify their knowledge of Russian history as 'mediocre,' according to a recent Romir monitoring survey of 1500 respondents who were at least 18 years of age. Approximately 34% of the respondents said their knowledge of the country's history was 'good.' 6% said their knowledge was 'excellent' and 10% said it was 'poor.' 1% called their knowledge 'very poor' and another 1% had difficulty answering the question. According to the survey, specialists with higher educations, military personnel and students have the best knowledge of Russian history. Housewives have the poorest knowledge.
