PACE delegates to monitor parliamentary elections

A PACE delegation is arriving in Moscow to monitor parliamentary elections.

The 19-member delegation headed by David Atkinson (the UK, group of European democrats) will be in Russia on December 4, the information centre of the Council of Europe in Moscow told RIA Novosti.

The delegation will include representatives of Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Poland, Norway, and also Ukraine, Estonia and Azerbaijan.

The delegation will be received by State Duma Speaker Gennady Seleznyov and Central Election Commission Chairman Alexander Veshnyakov.

The elections will be monitored in concert with OSCE observers, the press service noted.

PACE representatives are going to visit a number of other polling stations outside Moscow.

State Duma elections will be held on December 7.

The delegation will stay in Moscow till December 8.
