Economy Ministry admits excessive state control over economy

The Russian Economic Development and Trade Ministry have inspected 20 percent of the functions of federal agencies and recognized every fifth function excessive, Deputy Economy Minister Mikhail Dmitriyev announced in a live interview on Echo of Moscow radio. The noted the government's interference in the economy was excessive, and this brought losses to the society, enterprises and the state itself.

The deputy minister commented on tasks to be solved by the new federal agency, the Federal Economy Service, and named such a task as making federal ministries and agencies prove the expediency of a law or some regulations they initiate before approving them. He also noted that entrepreneurs could appeal to the new agency to complain against laws.
