Oil and gas output figures posted

Some 348m tons of oil and gas condensate were produced in Russia in the period from January to October 2003, which was 11.1 percent higher than in the corresponding period of last year, the Russian State Statistics Committee reported. The October 2003 production surged by 10.2 percent against October 2002 and 3.7 percent against September 2003.

Gasoline production in the reported period advanced by 1.3 percent to 24.1m tons, diesel fuel output increased by 2 percent to 44.4m tons.

Natural gas production amounted to 506bn cubic meters in the first 10 months of 2003, which was a 4.3-percent advance against the corresponding period of 2002.

Growth in the fuel industry was 9.5 percent in the reported period.
