Survey: Majority of Russians consider Vladimir Putin's presidency successful

The majority of Russians say that Vladimir Putin's presidency has had more achievements than setbacks, According to a recent survey by the Public Opinion Fund, 57% of respondents believe Putin has been successful as president. Only 12% of respondents believe Putin has had more setbacks than successes.

In regard to the question of which areas had the most success, 12% responded that raising pensions and increasing wages have been the largest achievements, 11% said Putin's domestic policy has been his greatest achievement, 6% said that foreign policy has been Putin's greatest achievement, 6% said that the increase in living standards has been his most important achievement and 3% believe that the stabilization of the situation in Chechya has been his greatest achievement.

On the other hand, 8% of respondents said that the war in Chechnya has been Putin's worst failure, 7% said that the low standard of living and unemployment have been his worst failure, 5% believe Putin's poor economic policy have been a failure, 3% say that his poor social policy was a failure, 2% believe that mistakes in foreign policy has been his worst failure and 2% say the sinking of the Kursk submarine has been his greatest failure.
