Russian TV might expand presence of its products on Western markets in future

Russian TV products might increase their presence in the West in the near future, announced head of the Gazprom-Media company Alexander Dybal during the roundtable in St. Petersburg, where representatives of TV, radio and mass media and prominent political scientists discussed the shaping of Russia's image within the country and abroad.

"Russian TV products might expand their presence in the West in the near future, but it will totally depend on the situation on the internal TV market," Mr. Dybal said.

He stressed that this year the internal TV advertising market for the first time in the history of Russia reached a US $1 billion mark, and it is estimated to achieve a US $1.2 billion mark next year. It will ensure the development and marketing of competitive Russian TV products on foreign markets, the head of Gazprom-Media believes.

He said that RTR "Planeta" is the leader among TV channels that present their adopted versions on foreign markets. Its foreign audience numbers about 10 million households. The second and the third place are shared by NTV "Mir" and ORT "International."
