No return to the past, Putin tells business

Speaking at the session of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Vladimir Putin promised its participants that there would be no return to the past and urged them to get used to law-abidance.

In connection with the investigated and extensively covered Yukos case, the head of state remarked: "We should get used to law-abidance and avoid illegal decisions, unsubstantiated accusations of law-enforcers, because this will breed corruption accusations of the authorities and business altogether.

Putin noted that any criminal case dealing with business arouses concern. "This is fairly understandable, for everybody gets alarmed as to whether there would be a return to the past or not. No way," said the president.
