The Russian President said that society awaits from business new ideas and proposals for accomplishing national tasks.
"The new big national tasks that have been set cause quite justified expectations in society. And it awaits from business not only new ideas but also proposals for their implementation," said Vladimir Putin on Friday at the congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
According to the President, today's level of Russia's economic development and the achieved public stability make it possible to set new and large-scale tasks, including for forming a renewed social policy "based on the account of all the factors, including today's high economic activity of the population and its ability to influence the level of its own social guarantees." The head of the state believes that business society "could direct its efforts at working out a system of renewed guarantees for citizens that would meet the demands of the time. Putin is also convinced that businessmen can "efficiently support the reforms which have started today in the army, in the housing and municipal sphere, in health services and in education." "We must jointly move ahead, must be strong and really competitive on the world market, and on this basis we must become an influential and modern state," said Putin. "And the main thing is," continued the President, "that we must jointly make the life of people economically satisfactory, their earnings weighty and the conditions of work stable and predictable." The President is convinced that these aims and these tasks must be accomplished not only by the state but by the entire civil society, including the business community.
