Baltika and RusAl's subsidiary to cooperate

The Baltika brewery and Rostar, a subsidiary of Russian Aluminum (RusAl), signed a six-year cooperation agreement worth $270m. The agreement envisages Rostar's supplies of cans that will provide for 50 percent of Baltika's needs. All 10 kinds of Baltika's canned beer will be bottled in these aluminum cans. As a corresponding press release reported, Rostar and Baltika are planning to continue implementation of joint projects aimed at promoting cans on the market.

Baltika's share on Russia's canned beer market is 30 percent. According to Baltika's and Rostar's estimation, currently this market segment is some 12 percent of the Russian beer market, while in Europe it is 23 to 25 percent.
