An official visit of Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to Russia is a major event of the Russian-Indian relations this year, a source in the Kremlin told RIA Novosti.

"The visit will contribute to further strengthening strategic partnership between Russia and India, developing collaboration of the two countries on the key directions of bilateral cooperation and in international affairs," the RIA interlocutor pointed out.

In the course of the negotiations the sides will discuss measures for developing cooperation between Russia and India in the struggle against international terrorism, illegal drug trafficking and other threats to international security," the source in the Kremlin emphasized.
