Russia seeks to encourage Hi-Tech development

Hi-Tech development is a national priority, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the APEC forum in Bangkok.

Putin briefed the participants of the summit on the progress of the "Electronic Russia" program, emphasizing the presence of computers in Russian schools - especially provincial ones.

Russia shares APEC's position on new technology and considers the hi-tech development one of its top national priorities, said Putin.
