YUKOS reports rise in Q2 oil refining

The volume of oil refined by YUKOS in the second quarter of this year grew 18 percent against the same period of 2002 and reached 65m barrels, the YUKOS press service reported. The increase is mostly due to the fact that the volume of oil refined by the Lithuanian company Mazeikiu Nafta (8.2m barrels) was included in YUKOS' respective operating report. In the first half of 2003, YUKOS' oil refining volume stepped up 19.8 percent to 132.6m barrels.

In the second quarter, the prime cost of oil refining came to $1.41 per barrel, up 17.5 percent against the corresponding period of 2002.
