Finns to build world's largest log house in Sochi

Finnish company Honkarakenne, which specializes in the construction of wooden buildings, plans to build the world's largest log house in Sochi. The house covers an area of 4.5 thousand square meters, said company director Mauri Saarelainen in newspaper Helsingin Sanomat. He said that the log house will become part of a recreational complex consisting of 20 log house cottages.

The log house will also be equipped with several saunas, restaurants and other luxury amenities. The basement section of the building will house a swimming pool. Russian and Finnish architects designed the log house. The house is valued at USD 4.1 million. The entire recreational complex should be completed within one year.
