Chechnya President looks to removal of troops

As soon as the Chechnya Ministry of Internal Affairs is stronger, troops will be withdrawn from the republic. As reported by Rosbalt, the statement was made Friday by Akhmad Kadyrov, the newly elected president of Chechnya. He said the only remaining units are the 42nd and 46th Motorized Infantry Brigades. Kadyrov plans to direct his request for the removal of troops to the president of the Russian Federation.

Kadyrov also said Chechnya plans to create a commission to investigate illegal usurpations of power in the republic. 'We do not intend to jail those who have done this, but it is simply necessary that we publish their names. The people ought to know who has done this.' Kadyrov said one of the people to whom he referred is Ruslan Khasbulatov.
