Analysts recap situation on Russian stock market

Yesterday, Russian stocks continued to grow on the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange (MICEX). According to stock analysts, the MICEX index reached its historic high of 546.32 points, which is 1.07 percent higher against October 6. The majority of blue chips advanced. Norilsk Nickel stepped up 5.4 percent, LUKoil 2.6 percent, Surgutneftegas 4.5 percent and YUKOS 0.4 percent. Meanwhile, RAO UES dropped 4.1 percent and Sberbank edged down 0.2 percent.

The volume of trade amounted to RUR15.5bn ($510m), up 13 percent against the average daily trading volume for the previous week.
