Most Russians believe their government is undemocratic

Most Russians believe their government is undemocratic. This was the result of a survey of 1500 Russian adults carried out by the sociological agency ROMIR monitoring in September. 12% said they were sure Russia is an undemocratic country while 39% said Russia is 'sooner' undemocratic than democratic. None the less, 46% are of the opposite opinion as 9% answered they were convinced Russia is democratic while 37% said Russia is 'sooner' democratic than undemocratic. Only 3% failed to answer the question.

Interestingly, 55% of respondents said they believe (with varying degrees of certainty) that the Russian mass media enjoy complete freedom while 43% disagreed. 7% did not answer the question.

Most respondents (69%) said they do not believe Russian elections are honest. About 29% of respondents are of the opposite opinion while 2% did not answer the question.
