Ruble plummets against euro

The weighted average euro exchange rate amounted to 35.58 RUR/EUR at a special session today, which was RUR0.50 higher than the official euro rate set for September 30. The high on these deals was 35.77 RUR/EUR. The ruble's weakening against the euro today has been several times more significant than on September 29 when the euro gained just RUR0.08.

Specialists link this sharp fall in the ruble against the euro to the dollar's drop against the European currency on international exchanges. The euro costs 1.1630 to 1.1640 dollars currently, while yesterday it did not exceed 1.1440 dollars.
