Did somebody try to poison Chechen Prime Minister?

Chechen Prime Minister Anatoly Popov feels better now, reported his aide Alexander Andronov. He said that last night, at about 01:00, Moscow time, he was brought to Moscow by plane and put in hospital.

On Saturday night, the Chechen Prime Minister was brought in a grave condition to a hospital in Khankala (the eastern suburb of Grozny where the headquarters of the Joint Group of the Federal Forces in Chechnya is situated). The diagnosis was acute food poisoning. Later the physicians found the remains of hypotropic poison in his organism.

However, so far there is no objective data that the Chechen Prime Minister was intentionally poisoned, reported the Chechen Prosecutor's Office.

"At the present time, a chemical examination of the content of Popov's stomach and blood is being carried out," said a spokesman for the Prosecutor's Office.
